Look at the two commandments of the New Testament. What do they really mean? If they are followed, how do we live?  What do we need to give up?  Try this experiment: go a day when everything you do is guided by these two commandments.  Reflect: are you happier?  Was it easy?  Why or why not?

There are two commandments of the New Testament-Honor your father and your mother and thou shalt not bear false witness. These mean that you need to honor your parents because they raise you up. People should not lie to other people. If we follow those commandments, our life will be very hard because most of  commandments that we have been given up. We need to give up that freedom that we have right now. When everything I do is guided by these two commandments, I feel that I am happy. I honor my parents by making food and doing everything that they do for me. I feel that is so hard and I understand their life on that day. On that day, I try not to tell the lie, and I feel that I can be the way I am. However, it is not as easy as I think, because I used to be the way I was. It is hard to change, but it is a good thing to change.

Which aspect of God do you most relate to at this point in your life and why?

God the father is one of the aspect that I can most relate to at this point in my life, because God is like a father who listen to people's prayer every day or even every moment. God's love spray every corner of the earth, people feel safe because they know that God has been watching them. God is like a father that help people out, and bless people. He is our great father because he would send his son to sacrifice for people's sin. Therefore, he is a great father who always put his people on the first place.

Prayer

What goes on inside you before you pray, while you pray and after you pray?

Prayer becomes more and more common for religious people. People pray before they eat meal, and people pray for those who are homeless or starve. People are so kind that they are willing to pray those who are suffering. I did prayer a few times, after teacher said people from around the world who are suffering about the war or poverty. I will pray for them. Before I pray, I do not know what I am going to say. I am stuck with all of those complicated words. When I pray, I think about there are lots of people starving and they are affected by war. I feel sad about them because they don't deserve this, and it is not their fault. After I pray, I feel relax because I know that why people need to pray to God because they want to God to hear that issue in the world. This gives us faith to move on. Therefore, I thought praying is good for people even though they are not religious.

Support the text description of one of the Gospel writers

In the four Gospels, there are some same stories that all four of Gospel writers mention in the text. For example, the resurrection of Jesus is mentioned in all four of them, and it is also at the end of Gospel. They all talk about the story of resurrection of Jesus. In John 2: 19-21 "Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body." In Matthew 16:21 "From that time began Jesus to show unto his disciples, that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up." In Luke 18:31-33 "And he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets shall be accomplished unto the Son of man. For he shall be delivered up unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and shamefully treated, and spit upon: and they shall scourge and kill him: and the third day he shall rise again." Those quotes are all supporting that the resurrection of Jesus, and also alluding that he will rise again.

Gospel

After doing the Gospel assignment, I know more about the Gospel's content, background, and the relationship of authors and Jesus. None of the Gospel authors wrote them about Jesus personally. All three of them are talking about Jesus. The Matthew resonates with me the most because I have read the old testament a little bit. In the Matthew, the author uses lots of content in the old testament. Therefore, this is the reason why people put Matthew be the first book of new testament. There is a connection between old testament and new testament.

bible archaeology inspiration

I felt that Jesus is a very amazing man, he created many miracles to people. I don't know much about him before. After bible archaeology activity, I know some truth about Jesus and what he had done for people before. What is the environment like during the Jesus era, the roman empire ruled the society. They wanted people to be loyal to the roman empire. I also know more about the people around him, our group did the Joseph of Arimathea. I know how the Jesus was buried, and how loyal of his disciple is.

Response 1

Jesus is the son of God who is died for our sin, and he is also called the saviour, good teacher and healer. I don't believe in God before, but after I know about him, I think he is very self-giving. He even sends his son to suffer and dies for people's sin. I believe about his contributions to this world and people.
